This Wednesday will be dedicated to ballroom.
We move across the floor a lot in standard ballroom and with every variation you learn new steps. At the base of each step and each variation lie the same principles: how you place your feet and how you use your ankles, knees and legs to create a movement. Practising the correct use of these techniques not only results in more beautiful dancing, but also in a nicer and easier feeling during dancing.
Ania Niedbal will explain to us the details about this topic in a workshop with both theory and practice: the workshop will consist of both a one hour lecture, followed by a half-hour guided practice with individual attention.
Ania is a dancer at heart. Born in Szczecin, Poland and currently living in Amsterdam, she has a passion for all dance styles. Besides ballroom dancing, she is interested in ballet, contemporary and national dances (especially those from Cuba). As ballroom dancer she has obtained the diploma of dance instructor at the Polish Academy of Sport. In The Netherlands she dances in the highest Dutch class with her partner Tomasz, winning various champions and vice-champions titles together and in international competitions they represent The Netherlands.
The workshop takes place in Studio 2 of Sporcentrum Universum from 21:15 till 23:00. Entry is free for members and €3 for non-members.
