About the Beginner Course
The AmsterDance Beginner Course is the perfect place for new members. In the course you will learn the basics of 9 dances. This way you immediately have a good foundation in the association and also get to know other new members. Together with you class, you follow one class per week for half a year (20 weeks). In this time you learn 7 different partner dances. In 2 of the weeks there is a dedicated guest class in a solo dance style. The course is completed with a dancing exam, where you can invite friends and family to show off what you learnt.
After the Beginner Course you have tasted various styles and enough experience to join in the other courses of AmsterDance. For ballroom dancing, you can continue with Silver. For other styles there are new courses starting every quarter (10 weeks) at a level that you can follow after the Beginner Course.
You sign up for the course individually, so you do not need a partner. The course is also open to non-members, so that every (ex-)student can try out dancing.
Partner dances: Salsa, Slow waltz, Tango (international), Quickstep, Cha cha cha, Rumba, Jive.
Solo styles differ per semester. examples are Afrodance, Urban, and Ballet.
