English at AmsterDance

AmsterDance is a Dutch student association. While the main language is Dutch, 20% of our members are English-speaking. Classes are taught in English whenever necessary and important practical information is available in both Dutch and English. We encourage an open atmosphere where Dutch and English-speaking members meet each other, rather than simply defaulting to one language. Because of this, many of our international members learn Dutch in their time at AmsterDance.

Membership Fee

The association season starts on 1 September and ends on 31 August. From 1 August onward, you can register for the new season. Your membership always renews yearly until you cancel.

To follow a course, you need a year membership, even for the courses in the second semester.
The Beginner course does not require a membership, but the members’ discount only applies with a year membership.

Beginner Course

Twice per year, in September and February, the AmsterDance Beginner Course starts. As a member you get a discount on this course, making it the perfect opportunity to learn how to dance while meeting people in the association.

In the registration form for the Beginner Course you can choose to sign up as a member of the association as well.

Trial classes and visiting

Before the start of each course period, there are trial classes for the Beginner Course. This is usually in August and January. You can leave your email below to be notified when new trial classes and courses start.

Throughout the year, you can always visit us on our association evenings. Her you can get to know the association and its members. The association evenings are every week on Wednesday and Sunday after the regular courses. During the association evening, there is a social dance (‘vrijdansen’) or a workshop in a specific dance.
